I have a 2002 Evinrude 150 hp carb...my warning horn is sounding. I traced the problem to the fuel restriction vacuum switch.
Even at rest with the hose removed the switch is closed. I'm guessing this should be a normally open switch... Any help would be appreciated...thanks

thanks...I did check it with my gauge, and it was closed at 4 in of Hg which says a bad switch. However I removed the switch and it was filled with gasoline...what caused that? I drained the switch, re-installed it and it works fine now..until it fills up again...any ideas?

Re: Fuel restriction vacuum switch

There was a bulletin back around that time that explained that there were some "out of spec" switches from a supplier. It showed how to look for a vent hole that may be plugged up.

See a knowledgeable dealer for more info as I do not have a copy with me.
