I have a 2000 Sea Pro SV1900CC I’m repowering and rewiring. I have a leak where the fuel sender goes into the top of the poly tank. Some astronauts tried to fix it by putting copious amounts of some sealant which , needless to say, did not work. When I pulled back the sealant, I found the screws, on the one side where it is leaking, were over tightened at some point. The screws are stripped and won’t tighten. Does anyone have a good fix for this issue short of pulling up the floor and buying a new tank? Thank y’all! I tried to add pictures but that feature seems to be down.

Are you able to rotate the sender and screw into fresh plastic? Try sharing some pics on google photo or icloud or whatever

Drill out the stripped holes, fill with epoxy, and re-tap or use slightly larger stainless screws. Add a new gasket neoprene or nitrile and seal lightly with 3M 4200 don’t overtighten. Works as a solid fix without tank replacement.

Easy fix with rivet nuts.

Select the thickness range to match wall thickness of tank
