The sending unit in the Fuel take went bad. I attempted to replace w/ a generic one, yet it doesn't read properly. I am looking for an OEM replacement. I have asked Sea Ray and they can't help. I don't know the spec's on the tank, but my recollection from last year is that it is only 4" deep where the gauge is located.

Paul - Look for a tank manufacturer's label on the tank. Mine was on the top of the tank near the sending unit.

Sea Ray could help if they wanted to. You might call back and ask them who manufactured the tank and call them.

A sending unit has to be calibrated for the actual tank design. One full movement of the resistor must equal the travel between full and empty tank.

The sender has to match the gauge as there are more types.

Try looking on the instrument back for a brand name. Very often the fuel gauge is part of a full instrumentation set that came with the engine (Merc?).
