Looking for some ideas on a way to shut off fuel supply from the tank to the fuel pump conveniently and safely, as ive had previous bad experiences with gasoline being left to sit in carbs over a period of time. My idea is when im done with the boat for the week/month, that when im done running it on muffs in my driveway, i can shut off the fuel supply from the tank and let it run the pump, lines and carb dry of fuel. That way i can prevent bad fuel issues. Ive used Stabil etc but would rather just do it this way. My questions are will i damage the pump by restricting the suction line, and what should i use as the actual shut-off? Its on a 3.0l Mercruiser btw, 1990 MY.
