Well i had a thread up here a month ago or so on my 1994 4.3 disaster. The boat was left out in the weather with the plug in and you can figure there rest. The engine was perfect internally and im in the process of asembly now. It came with the 2 barrel carb setup and i have previously owned a 4.3 mercruiser setup with the 4 barrel and was impressed with the performance. This boat i have now wasnt functional so i cant say how well the 2 barrel works from experience. Does anyone know if its worth swaping over to a 4 barrel or not? Ive found a 12 bolt 4 barrel intake and holley carb used on ebay and figure id ask questions before pulling the trigger. Ive also installed efi on an 84 chevy truck i restored and am very pleased with the performance, is there marine efi that could be an option as well?

Buying anything on ebay is like buying a Pig in a Poke. It is a Marine carb? Has it been butchered?

Its all marine grade and supposed to be in one piece. I just wonder if the conversion is worth the time and effort

I wouldnt put EFI in a boat that currently has a carb. the cost alone to do it right is way more money and headache than any perceived value. not to mention the required cam change to a wider lobe separation for proper EFI manifold signal.

as for performance, as bondo stated, about 20hp. then again, the vortec heads are about 20-30hp on the V6 as well.

is the intake a dual alloy unit or a cast iron unit?
