New to this forum, recently purchased a 1989 StarCraft SFM160. Previous owner was using an outboard fuel tank as he had issues with the inboard tank. I would like to fix the inboard tank and need some suggestions. I have drained the old gas out of the tank from the sending unit hole. I have added new gas but cant get it to pull through to the motor. Thanks for the help!

Looking for access to the outlet barb. Pulled up carpet expecting to find an access door but only found solid floor. Any suggestions? Or maybe tank dimensions so I can cut an access hole. I saw that the barb, vent and filler are all at the rear of the tank topside via a picture. Thanks for the help.

There isn't a deck plate over the fittings and sender. Well I guess you know now why they didn't try to repair the problem. Fuel tanks are tough to know the size of due to options. Without knowing the capacity it's difficult to know the dimensions and even then it would be a guess without seeing the label on the tank to get the model # and capacity. I'm afraid the only way is to either remove the decking to expose the tank or cut a piece out which is dangerous.

This has been interesting to say the least.it looks like the barb valve is under the live well. Wish i started this in Feb!

Oh man it figures, this has been a month of Murphy for quite a few guys doing rebuilds, maybe Feb would've been a better month

Some pics of your boat and project would be good, might drag some of the gawkers into the conversation too. :watermelon:
