Fuel tank removal

I have a 1984 MR18ft starcraft CC .Im taking the 18gal fuel tank out from the center console and eliminating it. Going to run with two 8 gallon cans.Anyone ever done this?Any comments? Thanks c-hawk999

I haven't but would not hesitate to do so. Further I would not remove the old tank unless it were real easy.
