Re: fuel tank

Yes, BB's are really too smooth but a box full of new nuts and some kerosene agitated inside the tank will loosen the crud and the nuts are easy to get back out.

Depending on the tanks internal condition you can also visit a motorcycle shop and get a tank coating kit which acid cleans and then coats the tank to prevent rust.

You could pull it and put some E85 in there... and I'm only half kidding...

Re: fuel tank

BBs are too smooth and lightweight. A bag of big nuts and bolts is better.

Ammonia cuts grease, but does nothing for cutting the fuel crud.

Kerosene probably works fine, but StarTron/Star Brite makes a gas tank cleaner, that may work better.

I'm trying it now on a funky tank. I don't yet know if it worked.
