does anyone know whate grade fuel i am suppose to run i have a 1987 mercury blackmax 150 h.p. and dont know whate grade is recommended. thank u

i use regular feul in my tank...low octane and then add stabil (blue color) for the ethanol additives gas has now.

Manual says 89 octane or higher in my '85 150 XR2. I always run premium to get away from ethanol as regular unleaded has it in it around here.

run 89 or better, your pistons will thank you for that, by not melting or getting holes in em from pre ignition

Don't assume that premium dosn't have ethanol in it. In this state ALL the gas has 10% ethanol and I have been in some states where regular didn't have ethanol, but mid grade did. They are supposed to post in on the pump, BUT in some places it is deliberately misleading, they put a "contains 10% ethanol" sticker under the regular, but actually it refers to ALL the grades.

Well said.... and this is why I buy regular and add stabil..
