Yes, Down is In....<br />And Up is Out...<br />From 1 Extreme to the Other....

Some older trim gauges use "in" and "out" for trim because trim action moves the prop into and away from the stern of the boat.<br /><br />Newer gauges use "up" or "down" because someone thought that would be easier to understand----as prop moves in to the stern of the boat, bow goes down. As prop moves out, bow goes up.
