Full revs, go nowhere after jump or fast turn

My Force 70hp is doing strange things lately. After going fast jumping swell, or sometimes after a fast tight turn, the revs go to max but the boat slows down. I throttle down, and accelerate again and all is OK. Is this some kind of cavitation, or is my engine jumping out of gear???
Thanx

It's either cavitation ,which I can't see or experience from where I'm sitting to evaluate ,or you have a spun prop.Since you say this is occuring after a jumped wake or fast tight turn and not during I am inclined to think you have a spun prop.Make a mark on the rubber hub of your prop adjacent to the barrel of prop and run motor in same situation and see if marks still line up.Or just simply do a careful visual of hub damper to see if it is spun. You can also try a search on this forum entering "spun prop."

Hi cxxl!
Lately, you said. If you have changed your prop or raised the enginge height it can be cavitation or ventilation.
But most likely it it time to visit the propeller doctor. Check this first! And what ob suggested; mark it, test it, check it.

cxxl,

I'm relatively cerain that you are just experiencing cavitation.

Do you have power trim? If so, try the manuevers with the engine trimmed "in" further. If not, lower the engine one notch with the trim pin.
