Hi all,
THis unit came in a boat I purchased, along with Furuno older 2k Radar. The Radar seems to work (more on water testing needed.
I'm only familiar with newer units like Humminbird and Garmin, and not familiar with this 1650, or Radar. I've Attached some screen shots.
QUESTION IS: it has a C-map coastal card installed...However, what I see on the screen looks more like what comes in units as Built-IN Base maps. There are soundings, boueys, and Maps...But it looks pretty basic. Not like my 8yr old Humminbird with Navionics....OR is this just super old gear, and "it is, what it is"??
I"m wondring if the card is actually workiing, as I can eject it with the unit off/on--makes not difference, no errors come up when doing that. It did have the "Internal Battery" error, which I fixed by taking it apart, removing the battery and installing a new one...ALL Boot up and self test run to "OK".
I was going to keep this unit mounted as a backup, alongside my new units. Would consider even updating the card.
Or just remove this and mount up my new 10" Simrad that is awaiting.
