Fuse size

I have a 1998 40 hp force elpt i bought it had a 10 amp fuse on motor is this the right size fuse for this motor previous owner says it blows sometime i know theres a short somewhere but i just fix one thing at a time due to busy work scheduel and people have been very helpful here and thanks for all your help

Intermittent shorts eventually become continuous shorts and that can lead to a fire....

Find it and fix it. A fire in a boat will ruin your day.

It is typical that an outboard engine will have a fused circuit with a 10-Ampere fuse that provides power to its remote controls at the helm.

Hello addict, your motor came with a 20 amp fuse.

Guessing the 10 amp blows when the power tilt was being used.
The proper (20 amp ) fuse should remedy that.
