Does anybody have a recommendation on a FWC conversion kit. I want to convert my Mercruiser 165 IL6 to a closed cooling system and am looking for any suggestions/recommendations someone may have. They seem kinda pricy (~$500-$600). Thanks in advance......

Tony

Yep! That's what they cost. But oh, what peace of mind. Plus you can go to 180 deg thermostat when you convert. Marine thermostats are way to cold for efficient engine operation.

http://www.go2marine.com/frameset.jsp?servletPath=/g2m/action /GoBPage/id/89317F/hiLiteSku/89317/categoryId/14019/

go to 'engine parts and related items'

Unfortunately, in this brand, your 165 hp is quite expensive. I bought direct from San Juan and paid about $500 shipped for my 302 omc.
