Only iboats gives me trouble perusing the threads. Outside of iboats I'm still getting redirected on the web. So I've got a friend who's going to wipe my XP out of existence and give me Win 7. Hope that will get me back to enjoyable perusing.

You don't need an upgraded operating system, you need rid of program you probably installed accidentally with a real program you installed.
Have done it myself because I forgot to un-check some stupid box for some tool bar. And that sounds exactly like what you have going on.

Did the upgrade and man what a difference. All the bugs but one new one are gone. Chrome won't let me reply to posts on iboats. Signed in and checked the profile. Other sites = no probs. Everything else is fine, even IE is faster. IE is what I'm using to post this. Suggestions or back to the computer guru?

I still use Firefox. Couldn't tell you how long, but I can't remember, a LONG time, 98 maybe?

On the rare occasion a site fails to render, then I open IE.

Sure are a lot of people on this site that don't have that problem, and I'm one of them. So it's not Chromes fault you can't reply.
Personally, I've been using it for years.

Jack D. and I are starting to think this is ok. If I want to reply, I have to go to IE=wake up. Too quick of a click = no response. Too slow of a click=clicking twice and I go back to another site. Keeps me on my toes.

82rude- your weighing heavy on my mind. Got one reply in with chrome today and thought all was well and fixed itself. Then the bottom popups started appearing every page change. Went to complain here and couldn't reply again. Went back to IE to post this with no popups. Talk about kerflumaxed! Don't know if it's chrome, me or iboats.

foodfisher, have you read through the section included on this website, talking about compatibility and the suggestions that have been given that ARE working for others?

Not sure of the section you are refering to but probably. This hammer swinger has a problem loading and unloadig programs and making sure there are no residuals left behind and remembering to unclick tagalongs. With no basic understanding of computers, all I want to do is search the web, visit my forums, and read and answer email. Edit: Kind of like my phone. All I need is to receive and place calls. The camera is nice but the pictures are still on the phone.

One section above this one, which is were you are actually supposed to publish these issues, has a lot of information on the various problems that others have had, it would probably be good for you to read through it and see if any of those solutions or information will help you out.

foodfisher, there is no reason to shut up, but looking through that section could be beneficial to your problem.

Based on your few messages, it is quite obvious, there is a software conflict in your computer that needs to be resolved.
