I'm at the stage in my boat restoration that I'm getting ready to paint. I've talked to a few people and they have recomended that I prime the boat before applying Pettite Easy Proxy Polyurethane. I found in my garage a can of Ace Galvanized and Aluminum Primer. Could I use this primer before using the Pettite Paint?

Use the primer that is recommended on the paint can. Many of these specialized paints are very fussy about what they will stick to.

Aluminum boat??
Should probably use a zinc chromate primer, but best to follow the paint manufacturers recommendation.

Roscoe is correct!! Use ONLY the primer that is recommended on the can of paint you are using. You dont want to do all the work and have the paint crinkle up as it begins to dry.Charlie
