Anyone have, or know of someone selling a gas tank and lines for a 1986 5hp Gamefisher? (Model 217-586613)

I know I can get one new from Sears, but $91 (plus shipping) is a pretty ridiculous price.

Thanks!

Re: Gamefisher 5.0 Fuel Tank

Are you talking about a built-in tank or an external tank with hoses? If it's the external tank, just go over to Wallyworld and pick one up. Get the universal hose set, and a Chrysler fitting, and you're home free. Skip the 6 gallon one, and get one of the smaller ones.

If it's the built-in tank, then contact tcoutboard.com and call them. They'll have one a lot cheaper than that.

Thank you. It's an external tank. I guess the only part which is likely proprietary, if at all, is the coupler to attach to the motor. Motor is a made by Eska. The motor fitting has a ball bearing inside. To describe it, the gas hose coupling has a pin in it and perimeter piece which you pull back, attach to the motor male connection. The pin pushes in the motor-side ball-bearing, and you release the perimeter piece which makes the connection lock and the flow open. Now if I only knew the name of that type of connection it would make it easier to say!

Anyway, Chryslers of that era had the same type connection?

Yup. That's a Chrysler fitting. They can be a little hard to find. If you can't find one, you can order one right here on iboats.

Both Sears and Wards used the Chrysler fuel fitting on most of their engines from the 1970s on.
