Thinking about getting a eska 7.5 1980 outboard. Model 217.586752. Tecumseh model 640-23A.

If I need to get parts for the carb can I replace with parts from another model? I can't find all the parts for this carb online, but I can find parts for similar models. Discount-Marine-Parts.com has carb kits for 1979-1982 7.5TG (eska 640-17, 640-18, 640-19) and 1981-1987 7.5 (eska 640-19).

Can parts from any of these cards be interchangeable with 640-23A? Anyone with experience with this problem?

I've figured it out. I was looking it up as Eska and not under gamefisher. The carb kit is available for this model, so no substitution is necessary. Also its a 1984 or 1985, not 1980.

I don't know of any 7.5 that uses anything other than the kit your getting, actually its the same kit all the way up to the water cooled 15hp except the external fuel pump twins.

the big dif is who you get your parts from and how much you pay...thats the trick ;)
