Gamefisher Outboard Info

Please Help. I just traded for an Outboard motor, it has no numbers on it. I was told it is a Gamefisher 15hp. Does anyone know how i can tell what year it is? And how can i tell it is a 15hp and not a 9.9hp? I have read that they look the same exept for minor differences. Thanks for any Help!

ok i just found a number on the jug. 0579065
Not sure if it is part number or serial number.
I also found a number on the bottom of the tiller handle. 286078-2

These motors were made by a number of companies.There should be a label or tag
on the motor some where.Mounting bracket is a likely place sometimes on the outside. a 217 prefix is an Eska,225 is a Force. are most common 15 hp.
A picture of the motor and the power head is helpful. You'll need to use a hosting site.
