Gapless Plugs.

My mariner 90 3 Cyl outboard uses Gapless plugs. NGK BUHW-2<br />I am interested in changing to a gapped plug, does anyone do this? and if so any recomdations on part #?<br /><br />Thanks

Just discovered that my mariner has gapless plugs also. Might not be clearance in the cylinder when the piston is up for an electrode. Better stick to what the mfg. recommends. fred

That would be a no no . Stick with a marine plug.<br />Never use other than oem plug in a outboard. You could damage a piston etc. Tim

Why would you want to do that? The surface gap plugs are much better, not to mention what your engine was designed for...

Stick with the factory recommended plug, or you could burn a hole in a piston......
