Garmin 128GPS

A friend has a Garmin 128 and said 2 seasons ago it stopped aquiring satalites. Is there a way to reset it, or was the government change what caused it not to work. I know I had a problem with my old Micrologic GPS 2 years ago.<br />Michael

There has been no change that would cause the old GPS to stop working. <br /><br />It sounds broke to me. <br /><br />Get in touch with Garmin; Their customer Service is excellent and they will probably repair it for a modest fee.<br /><br />Good luck.

Garmin has software updates from version 2.04 to 2.05 to 2.06. Basically the gps units are pretty bullet proof. Try new batteries and powering it up and down multiple times...remove the batteries and do it again. On occasion they do get a "glitch" and hang up. Look at the garmin web site http://www.garmin.com/products/gps128/download.html for the software updates. If you attempt to download an update just be careful or you will render the unit useless.<br /><br />Bob
