garmin 172c to cobra vhf dsc wiring

I have a red and black wire coming out of the vhf unit, says to hook it up to nema puls and minus outputs on a gps unit. Which one do I hook it to, there are 6 nema wires all different colors?

On a lowarance the Yellow wire outputs to the radio and the shield wire go to the other <br /><br /> SO I would recommend you download the manual from garmin because there really is no standard AND you may still need to turn on and option in the GPS even if your connected corrrectly for it to start trannsmiting to the radio<br /><br />tommays

I have the manual, but it's not very informative <br />I have a nema tx rx on port one and a nema txrx on port 2

You should hook the blue wire (port 1 data out)from your Garmin to the red wire from the radio and the black wire from the radio to the same (12 vdc negative) that the GPS uses..(black). This how Garmin told me to hook it up and everything works fine.
