Re: Garmin 182C Battery Alarm

It could be a bad or dirty connection and it may not be your boat battery at all.

It could be thatyou need to change the CMOS battery internal to the unit. The CMOS battry needs changed from time to time.

Do you loose your presets from time to time? This is the first hint of problems with your CMOS battery

Re: Garmin 182C Battery Alarm

Adjust one of your data boxes to show voltage, unit voltage should be within approx 0.2 volts of actual system voltage or else you have other issues; this alarm (when set to "on") is generated when voltage sensed by the unit falls below a preset alarm level.

Go to the "Alarm" menu and see if it's "ON". If so, is it set to a reasonable voltage (the unit will actually operate down to 10 volts)? If it's not "on", better call Garmin.

This alarm has nothing to do with CMOS ...
