gas and water in oil

i have a 1984 mercruiser 120 4 cylinder 153cid. i drained the oil and i found that the oil had some water and a bit of gas in it and i havent found much. possible head gasket or exhaust manifold rusted, riser manifold????? not sure were to look first any ideas on the problem let me know its driving me crazy. thanx

Welcome to I-boats blade, a very small amount of water in the oil could just be condensation, but it could also be a cracked block, blown head gasket, intake manifold and gasket, etc. Change the oil and run it then change it again and see what you have, if no water then your problem was probably condensation. if you have water then you need to start looking elsewere.. as to the gas in the oil, i would suspect a bad fuel pump.. good luck and let us know how it turns out...
