Welcome to iboats, DFB. You may be right,or maybee not. Remove the fuel line from the carb,and place it this hose end in a soda bottle.Crank.If you have gas pulsing into the bottle,the pump is good to go.<br />You should have an inline,after-market filter in the fuel line between the primer and the engine,as these pumps dont have the intregal filter that the two-stage pumps do.If not, you can (and should) instal one inline.<br />Check the compression. The fuel pump relies on engine compression to operate it.<br />Also the compression hose from the pump (goes to the block) for air leaks. and finally, loose screws on the pump assembly. I know this sounds like a long-shot, but it's actually very common for these screws to vibrate loose,sometimes to the point of ending-up in the cowling.
