Another quick question or two: I have a 6 H.P. Evinrude, 1991, model E6REIA. It has a 3/8" fuel line. No in line filter under the cowl other than the fuel pump screen. I have a glass in line filter I am thinking about installing on the fuel line outside of the motor cowl First of all, should i put an in line filter in the line and secondly if so, should I install it between the tank and primer ball, or between the primer ball and motor? Thank again guys!

The ones I've seen were always that type and placed in the line between the primer bulb and the engine.

My preference is between the tank and bulb to stop crud from messing up the check valves in the bulb.

I wouldn't use a glass filter. Assuming you have a portable tank, the hose will be tossed around and increase the chance of the filter glass breaking. A 3 or 4 dollar plastic filter from an auto parts store is more durable.

Got ya GA _Boater. I do not have a portable tank. I am coming out of the tank under my floor for the trolling motor. Same tank I use for my main motor. I am leaning towards the glass filter because I would like to see the gas in the line to keep an eye on it for anything unusual, like water or bubbles or crud. I think though, it would be a good idea to take alng a spare plastic cheap filter in the event that the glass does end up breaking some how. Thanks for the input.

Thanks Joe Reeves as well.
