Gas gage problems

I just picked up a 1983 Alumucraft Trophy 175 and the gas gage is not work have tried all the switched, but it still does not work. Before I start taking thing apart any tips on were to start? Is the gage hooked to any of the switches?

The only switch involved should be the ignition switch. There are MANY threads here on diagnosing fuel gauge problems. Do a search.
