Everytime I go to refuel my boat at the marina I have to put gas in slow. If not after a few minutes the gas comes rushing out, even when I do it slow it keeps backflowing out. what could the problem be?

Did you check that the vent line was clear of those mudd dobers (sp?) wasp's. Sounds like you have a restriction in line somewhere.

later,

Big-E

Also ck the vent line to make sure there are no sags or low spot to trap fuel

I agree! the main hose going to the tank could be longer then nessaseay, causing a sag.
what kind of boat is it?
same thing happened to me.

I'll bet its the vent line. Mine did the same thing on my last boat. I checked the line visually and it looked good, but the problem persisted. I replaced the vent line and bingo...

Re: gas gushes out while refueling

I worked at a gas dock for a couple of years and found that most of the problems were vent lines. Try pulling the nozzle out a bit, just rest it on the lip, if your vent is blocked this will allow for some ventilation. Also opened up a few compartments on some boats and found that they were just designed with all kinds of angles in the fill pipe, poor design. good luck!
