gas leak into saltwater

yamaha twin 150etxh/L150etxh 1987 rebuilt1997 first problem start up OK warm up 1500 rpm no gas in water drop to idle small rainbow of gas shows up from exhaust run boat no problem smooth.dock boat, raise moters after fishing, big rainbow of gas ( can smell it)draining from lower unit with normal water drain. have checked all hoses to and from carbs and everthing under cowling dry ,fuel connect good ,primer bulbs good. must be somthing internal? Strictly guessing with no other symptoms in the way it runs. A sticking needle or a leaking fuel pump could cause this. Rechecking the air idle adjustments would be another possible cause.
