gas leak.....

I have a 1996 48spl Johnson. When I tilt it up and trailer it there is gas leaking out. The gas is coming out on the shaft and out of the front of the motor. Once I get home the gas is done leaking. Also I have had trouble setting the idle correct. Seems to either load up or not idle. Questions, comments, and ideas....<br /><br />thanks<br />longshot

Are you talking about it not idling in gear in water?In nuetral in water? on the hose?As for fuel leak have you checked hoses to and from fuel pump,carb inlet hoses, primer solenoid for external leaks?Trying to determine whether fuel is leaking when tilted from carbs and intake box
