I have a 1986 115 Mercury - 6 cyc. After running the boat for a few hours, when bringing the boat on the trailer, we have to raise the tilt on the engine. Is it normal for a little gas to drip out of carbs? I was an Evinr/Johnson guy before this merc. I notice the Merc does not have a cover over the carbs. What is the deal with that?

That's normal unless it's a LOT of gas. You could disconnect fuel line and let it run til the carbs are dry, but some folks say that's not a good thing. I do it and no damage yet to my inline 4 Merc 500.
