Gas mixed, by accident in my Yamaha 200 HPDI oil reserve

Had about 2 gallons of gas mixed, by accident in my Yamaha 200 HPDI oil reserve. Has anyone had this happen and what are the consequences? Ran the engines about a week without much problems.

Let's get this straight. If the premixed fuel is in the oil tank you essentially decreased the lubrication ability of the oil and need to get that mixture out and replaced with straight oil. If the premix is in the fuel tank there is no issue.

It was in the premix not the gas.....would it make the engine run rough? what signs of problems would occur?

so your saying that the gas was mixed into the OIL tank....not the other way around? If it is mixed with the oil tank, you need to replace all of the oil in there with strait oil as there will be too much gas and not an adaquate amount of oil. The symptoms could be disasterous.

If the oil is mixed into the GAS tank , its not a problem at all and the only sign that might come out of it, is that your engine might smoke a little more or foul a few plugs depending on how much oil you put in.

I'd be suprised if it ran for a week if you had 2 gallons of gas in the oil tank....Doesn't sound right...How big is your oil tank??

Run pre-mix in the gas tank till all the stuff in the oil tank is gone. Then fill up the oil tank with just the correct oil and just use gas in the main gas tank.

I hope you haven't damaged your engine yet.
