Tomorrow is the maiden (to me) launch of the Kingfisher with a 35hp Javelin. My only concern is what is the proper oil gas mixture. Previous owner said to run it 50:1. Is this correct?

It's a big debate. Most will say 24:1 on the 50's engines. Some will use less oil as that engine has mostly bearings in it.

Official (latest) by BRP and by OMC is 24:1 for that 1957 outboard.

Don't yabut the maker, use what they say to use.

I always run 24:1 TCW-3 oil in my '57 Lark and she always runs great.
