The admiral is right. Yamaha might tell you 100:1 but that is only good if you use the boat almost daily. With occasional use there will not be enough oil residue to preserve the shiny parts in the motor. Use 50:1.

Hi,<br />Just as a side note:<br />If the oil injection system is disconnected it is in most cases 50:1 (fuel:eek:il) that can be used.<br /><br />But when oil injection is in use there is usually a variable fuel:eek:il ratio. For example most Suzuki 2-stroke outboards with carburators has at idle 150:1 and at full throttle 50:1.<br />So it varies with RPM.<br /><br />When You mix oil in the fueltank yourself You will usually get a little more oil then needed at lower RPM. That can for example be a slightly negative thing if you use Your outboard much at lower RPM like trolling. The spark plugs do not like that if I'm not misstaken.<br /><br />/Bo
