Re: Gas spits out when filling???

Boatfun,
I had this problem when I first got my boat. It turned out that the vent hose had a "dip" in it where gas would sometimes collect. When filling the boat the vent pressure would cause this gas to spit out the vent.

The Fix: I cut down the length of the vent hose and the problem went away.

-Chris

P.S. Out of curiousity, what year/model is your boat?

Thank you!! But what do you mean you "Cut down" the length of the vent hose?? You just bent the dip out?? or you cut it out and replaced with shorter hose?? Was it hard?? I have not really checked to see how to get to the hose leading to the tank I hope it is not too hard to get too..

I have a 1986 Thompson, what do you have??

Thanks again!!
