Well, here is the deal,I have taken my 1964 johnson 60hp down to the river to see if it starts up. Well, before I turned the key,I went to prime the bulb to get some gas in the the glass bowl thingy and I noticed gas was sqirting real bad around the fitting where the hose is goin to motor, but only when I was sqeezing the bulb it would just spray everywhere.Am I missing something?
I did get it to crank over on the first try and the leak seemed to have stoped, but when I put the throttle in forward or reverse it just wants to die out unless I go back and keep sqeezing that bulb thingy. In neutral Its sounds strong and even at wot and seems to stay running hmm any ideals fellas? Thankyou in advance and Godbless.

stays running when you squeeze the fuel bulb? Sounds like a fuel pump. Easy to change.
As far as gas squirting out when you squeeze the bulb, how much are we talking about? If its a small amount, try tightening the clamps for the hoses.

orings in the connector from the tank, it it will leak there, it will also suck air there, and not suck gas from the tank, address that first, then if it won't run, without pumping the bulb, check the fuel pump. possible dirty carbs. how long has the motor been stored.
