hi all i have a 1986 larson senza with a 15 gallon built in tank . the tank takes quite awhile to fill it will come up to the top of the cap and then it takes forever to go down abit before i can add more fuel to it then i have to wait for that bit to go down .the filler hose runs down the inside of the boat and then across the floor to the tank .i was thinking of putting a bit of angle on the hose to see if this works better . also when i try to fill it it keeps coming out the vent tube . has anybody out there had this problem and know of a fix ? thanks .

It’s pretty common problem actuality. It’s most likely caused by an obstruction in your vent line.

Check for insect nests in the vent and also check to make sure that fuel has not collected in a low spot in the vent line and restricted the air flow.

You could also be filling the tank too fast. Unknown since you did not say but I had the same problem and when the previous owner waxed the boat the fuel vent was caked with dried wax. So, I would try cleaning the vent or maybe pumping slower.

I can get an extra 2 gallons in our 19 gal. tank on the four winns 160 freedom just by filling it slowly.. I just slow down when I know it's getting near full.. If I put it in full blast it will burp out the vent and shut off, 2 gallons shy of full..
