Im having a problem with my 97 Powerquest....I know my gas gauge is functioning correctly, however, when I try to fill the tank up, I think I have air pockets or something in the lines? It keeps kicking the gas back out, and my gauge shows 1/4 tank? How do I get rid of this problem?

Re: Gas Tank Issues

the first thing to do is check that the vent line is really clear and venting

on my boat the orginal vent line was installed with a full 360 loop and it was allways a problem

when i corrected this i now only get fuel out of the vent when its full and no backup from the pump nozzle

but even with the vent correct it will only take a full tank if the boat is dead level even standing on the stern at the gas dock cuts way down on getting a full tank

tommays

Re: Gas Tank Issues

There is a straight 180 line to the tank from the fuel air vent to the gas tank, so that is not the issue. When the blowback occurs, it also pours out of the fuel air vent as well. Any other ideas? I was in the water at the marina when the blowback was occuring.

remove the anti-siphon device. and check the vent again.

Please forgive my ignorance, but where might this be located?
