Hi all

How important is the gas tank height relative to the OB motor. I plan to install a gas tank underneath the floor in the nose and are n bit worried that it might sit to low relative to the motor. I have a 1982 Mariner 90 6 cylinder in-line. Please can anybody help me with advice.

Re: Gas tank position

I have used portable tanks on the floor up front and had one boat with the tank in the floor and had no problems, The motor has a fuel pump so it shouldn't make any difference.

conjor,

Should be no issue at all. Many boats have the tanks in the floor. Just make sure you use 3/8" ID fuel hose.

djohns19, I plan to use a copper pipe from the front to the back of the boat, from there I will attach the primer bulb and fuel hose to the motor. What should the inside diameter be for proper flow.
