My gas tank is leaking. It is located in a compartment under the floor. There is an access panel that is 23-1/2" wide and the tank is 24" wide. I can probably deal with that, but the real problem is they foamed the tank in. There is some room at the back of the tank and so I was able to dig the foam out with a garden trowel. But there is less than 2" clearance on the sides of the tank, and I can't even see the front. The bottom also appears to have foam under it. The foam is a light tan color - I am guessing it is urethane.

Does anyone know anything that dissolves the foam? Or any other easy way to get it out? I don't really like the idea of using power tools around the gas tank.
