hey, I'm new here. I was given a sears-eska 1971 4.5 hp motor. the tank was rusty. the old lacquer thinner, nuts & washers and shake, shake your booty resulted in lots of pin holes in the tank. ordered a gas tank sealer kit from eastwood company. one for motorcycle tanks $34, followed the procedure and it worked!!! it called for slightly air pressurizing the tank and I had no way to do that, so I set a small fan up, propped the tank up so the filler inlet caught the breeze and it worked great. instructions said wait 48 hours before using, I waited 4 days. I also rolled the coating around the inside of the tank for about 1 1/2 hours, letting it build up nice and thick. just thought I'd share.
