not sure what is going on here, maybey you do..
I have a 17gal plastic vented gas tank. I never seems to hold more that 8 or 9 gals of gas, when it gets to that point it will spray gas out of the fill, it also seems to never be able to use all the gas up, it is vented and as far as I can tell the vent works fine..

How do you know it's empty?
I have a 90 litre tank I could never fit more than 60 litres into and the guage always read 'E'. Wasn't until I syphoned 30 litres out that I realized my range on a full tank was 50 more than I ever used.

Thats what I saying with one go empty, the motor acts as if its out of gas when there is still a couple of gals left. however I knwo it should take much more gas then what is does, I adjusted the float to messure the right amounts. I know it sounds like a vent prblm but the vent seem to be open

OK - this is an inboard tank, correct? Some tanks do have an unusable amount of fuel in it. however, 8 or 9 gallons from a 19 gal tank isn't right. You stat the motor actually runs out of fuel at a certain point - consistantly? Have you checked how much fuel is in the tank after she has run out? Even if the boat was really bow heavy and prevented gas from reaching the fuel line, it wouldn't account for 11 lost gallons. Something doesn't add up in your description.
The only thing that comes to mind is when you 'run out' of fuel, open the fill cap to equalize the pressure and then see if she starts up again- this assumes that the vents are indeed clogged.
You stated something in your reply that might of been a typo. you state when 'one' runs out. You mean you have two tanks?
