I just bought a 1988 bayliner cobra with a 125 force outboard. Since the motor is a 2 cycle I have to mix it at a 50:1 ratio. Does anyone know what size tank was put in this model boat? Granted this is hoping know one has swapped gas tanks. I know the best thing to do first fill up is mix the fuel in in a 5 gallon tank and fill it up but was just curious as to what size the tank is.

thanks

Re: Gas tank

put enough oil in for 20 gallons, then start to fill, if you get to 20 gallons, add oil for 5 more gallons. tben more gas.

but, i would not fill it up, until you know it runs properly. try 5 or 10 gallons. you may be having to drain all that fuel. that vintage bayliner is known for soft decks, and failing transoms. and the force is not the most reliable motor.
