Re: GAS

Last season I filled up with 98 gal. (Cha Ching)at a gas station before launching. Went pretty much up to August before getting 20 gal from the marina. Guage said I was down below a quarter of a tank. The 20 gal put it up between quarter and half. Then after haul out, I use the gas that is left in the tank for the spliter, tractor and chain saws. What I have drained out has been about 56 gallons. So my guage must be off.

I could have gone the whole season without buying any. :D I like that, one fill up for the whole season. Of course the lake I'm on is a small one thats under a 1000 acre. I just usually troll.

But if I would need fuel, I would support my local marina. Spilling gas into the water around here will get you a big fine. Thats another reason for me to use the marina..

Re: GAS

My old boat ran on 2 six gallon tanks. My new boat has a permanent 18 gallon tank.

I have two 6 gallon jerry cans that I use to fuel the boat when I go to town.

I alway keep gas in the jerry cans 'cause I also use it to fill the 4 gallon pressure tank for my tin fishing boat.

The local resort that sells fuel is alway at leas 15 cents more per litre (yup about 60 cents per US gallon).

Considering town is only 5 minutes away, I prefer to get gas there.

In a neighbouring town, there is an ESSO that is both a boat station and car station. Guess what, they sell their gas on the water for the same price as on land.

Isn't that a novel idea?

Joe
