Hi, I am very new to outboards and I think I made my first (of many) errors. I just replaced the water pump on a 1999 Evinrude Ficht 200 hp outboard. I inadvertently used permatex water pump gasket MAKER rather than Gasket Sealing Compound, which is called for in the instructions. I used the gasket that was included in the kit, but instead of a thin coat of gasket sealing COMPOUND, I used a thin coat of Permatex Water pump Gasket MAKER. How bad of a screw up is this? The lower end is not on the engine yet, so I can try and repair my error. Or will the water pump gasket MAKER be ok?
