I have a 53 Seak King (Gale) 5hp. I am looking to move the powerhead from 1midsection/lowerunit to another. I will need to replace the trapezoid shaped gasket and I am fairly certain I can not buy a new gasket. The question is what gasket material do I use to make a new one. I have the gray construction paper looking stuff you buy at an auto parts store. I also have punchs for the holes. My other thought was copper but that may be overkill. The exhaust output and water input and output go through this connection.

I'd call your marina first and have them look through BRP catalog. Online you can only search back to '68, but they can look further. Those gaskets are made from pretty firm, rubbery gasket material, similar to what they use for carb base mounting gasket.
