gasket sealant?????

I am putting together a 1998 90 hp rude cross flow i am about to mount the intake manifold with the reed blocks to the block do i use sealant on the gasket between the block and intake manifold? There a a few small holes that look like air passages and i am affraid the sealer will clog them?
