Hello,

I'm replacing all my seals and gaskets in my upper and lower 1984 Stringer drive. I'm ready to purchase everything. Some of the kit's on ebay are original OMC parts new in the box. Those items are half the price of the aftermarket seals and gaskets.

My question is would you trust an original OMC gasket? Even though it's new in the box it is pretty old. Do the gaskets dry out?

up to you. gaskets in a properly stored box would last nearly forever. o-rings and seals if not stored properly would be a different thing.

make sure you order shim packs as well.
