Gasping rude

I have a 1984 evinrude v4 140hp. The last few times out I have been doing alot of trolling and my motor keeps dying. I replaced the plugs which were oil soaked and fouled. But I still have the same problem. Motors sounds like it is gasping at idle speeds then dies. Any suggestions on where to start? I am gonna clean the carbs this weekend. Thanks.

I'm with the carb thing to begin with as well.

Don't know if it has puddle valves but if plugged they probably would cause fouling.
