I have a 1984 115 yamaha ETLN and I want to replace the gauges with something a little nicer looking. I want tach, trim fuel and volt gauges. I have to keep the low oil gauge as I think it is yamaha specific. can I order new ones from teleflex for all these or do I have to go thru yamaha at an outrageous price? yamaha $304.80, teleflex $130.96.thanks in advance

Re: gauge replacement?

Voltmeter and fuel gauges are not engine specific. Any brand/style will work as long as the fuel sender in the tank and the gauge match. Sender is typically 33-240 ohms. Tachometers are fairly universal and can be adjusted for the number of alternator pulses it sees from the engine. A 12 pole alternator produces 6 pulses to the tach. Don't know about the trim gauge. It too must match the Yamaha sender and as such may not be "generic"

Re: gauge replacement?

as far as the tach goes, I am seeing either a 6000rpm or a 7000 rpm tach. my WOT is about 5200rpms. Which tach is for me? current model is a 7000rpm.
